Positive Thinking
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that allows thoughts, words and images that are beneficial to growth, expansion and success, into your mind and into your life.
A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. So, whatever the mind expects, it finds; if you expect good and favourable results and take the necessary actions to ensure your success, you will more often than not receive it.
Positive thinking brings inner peace, success, improved relationships, better health, happiness and satisfaction. It also helps the daily affairs of life move more smoothly, and makes life look bright and promising.
And even better - positive thinking is contagious!
People around you pick up on your moods and are affected accordingly. Think about happiness, good health and success, and you will cause people to like you and desire to help you, because they enjoy the vibrations that a positive mind emits.
Here are a few tips to help you develop the power of positive thinking and be successful in your search for a happier and healthier frame of mind:
Keep it up!
Getting started is easy, it's the maintenance that's tricky. Make a habit out of thinking positively until it becomes an permanent part of who you are.

- Recognise negative thoughts as they take shape and bury them before they take root. If you feel your mood darkening, put a stop to these musings before you succumb to them.
Take a walk in the fresh air, play with a pet, hug your children, crank your favourite song on your iPod... anything that gets you out of the negative mindset. Once you learn to stop negative thoughts in their tracks, you will be well and truly embracing positivity, happiness and abundance into your life.
- Hang out with people who think positive!
Positivity is infectious - it's refreshingly fun to be around positive thinking people who seem to naturally maintain a positive attitude.
- Look after yourself. Exercise and eat fresh, healthy food. If you look good on the outside, it'll be easier to feel good on the inside. Drink lots of water, too!
- De-clutter. Surround yourself only with the things you love and that make you feel good - framed family photos, favourite books, crystals, potted plants, works of art - anything that's meaningful to you and makes you feel happy.
- If people tell you you can't do something, take that as a challenge and prove them wrong!
Chances are, they themselves can't do it or are too afraid to try. If you show them it can be done after all, maybe they'll even be inspired by your success. You can be a living tip for positive thinking to them :)
- Be a volunteer or get involved in charity work. Not only will you realise the sheer number of people who have bigger problems than you do, but there is also such an emotional and spiritual high to be experienced in helping others.
- De-stress. You're more likely to be cranky if you're perpetually stressed out. So get away from it all and recharge, a massage, meditation or Reiki session are ideal!
